CONDENSING BOILERS

Types: Condensing and near-condensing hydronic boilers

Capacity: 300,000 to 12 million BTU input

Typical uses/applications: Comfort heating and low temperature process loads. Typically used in schools, decentralized institutional facilities, apartments and other commercial buildings.

Fuel types: Natural gas, propane

FIRETUBE BOILERS

Types: Dryback or Wetback in two, three, and four-pass designs

Capacity: 15 to 2,200 HP

Typical uses/applications: Wide array of uses from hot water and low pressure steam heating loads to process loads. Typically seen in heating loads when oil firing is required, or the load is large. Commonly used in Central Utility plants in hospitals, food processing facilities, corrugators or other heavy duty applications.

Pressure: 15 PSIG to 350 PSIG

Fuel types: Natural gas, propane, all grades of oils, combination gas/oil, non-standard fuels such as off gases and waste oil

COMMERCIAL WATERTUBE BOILERS

Types: Straight tube; flextube, membrane wall type

Capacity: ½ million BTU to 18 million BTU

Typical uses/applications: Wide range of uses from hot water and low pressure steam heating loads to process loads. Typically used in hybrid heating systems and when oil firing is required, and for smaller process loads.

Pressure: 15 PSIG to 400 PSIG

Fuel types: Gas, light oils, combination

INDUSTRIAL WATERTUBE BOILERS

Types: D, O, A, and external drum designs

Capacity: From 10,000 LBS/Hr to 500,000 LBS/Hr

Typical uses/applications: Central steam plant and process loads. Used when large capacity or high pressures are required.

Pressure: 150 PSIG to 1500 PSIG

Fuel types: Natural gas, all grades of oils, combination gas/oil, non-standard fuels such as off gasses and waste oil

ELECTRIC BOILERS

Types: Immersion element and electrode

Power: 120 volt to 13.4 Kv

Typical uses/applications: Small units used when venting is not possible and for point-of-use steam loads. Large units used when electric rates are competitive and emissions or other factors favor.

Capacity: From 35,000 BTU to 100,000 LBS/Hr

HEAT RECOVERY BOILERS

Types: HRSG, firetube, watertube

Typical uses/applications: Used when high amounts of hot waste gas is available such as on a turbine or process exhaust.

Capacity: from 5,000 LBS/Hr to 100,000 LBS/Hr
